The necessary waterings

The Cachi plant does not have particular needs as regards the need, or not, to be watered. It is, in fact, a relatively resistant plant to the most adverse climate conditions, among which the main one is certainly the drought. Watering for the Cachi plant, also known as "Diaspero" or simply "Kaki", is indispensable only in areas subject to greater drought, that is those in which there is not, in principle, a real rainy season. Only in this way is it possible to make the fruit better, given that in spite of everything it is important that the Persimmon has the right amount of water. In regions of the world where, instead, there are no problems related to drought and where rains are more frequent, it is possible to skip irrigation since the plant draws the water it needs from the rain.

Cultivation and care

The cultivation of the Cachi plant is far from complicated. The planting must take place in the autumn season and there are no special needs with regard to the land. The only aspect is drainage, which must be good. When plants are planted, they must be placed at a minimum distance of at least 6 meters. As adults, in fact, these trees need a lot of space and perfect ventilation. Periodically it is necessary to proceed with the pruning of the tree, simply eliminating the dry or damaged branches. If there were excessively heavy branches with too many flowers it is necessary to lighten them by eliminating some. The collection of persimmons takes place in late autumn, generally in the months between October and November.

Ideal fertilization

Among the very few maintenance interventions required by the Cachi plant is that of fertilization. In fact, it is really important to correctly integrate the nutrients present in the soil, in order to guarantee optimal tree development and also a better quality crop. Fertilization of the Cachi plant must take place periodically in the spring and autumn seasons. Apart from the unfortunate case of problems and parasites, in fact, summer and winter fertilizations must mostly be avoided. The fundamental element that must be the ideal fertilizer for Cachi is undoubtedly nitrogen. In the spring season, to this, one must also add the other two essential macroelements for the majority of plants, namely phosphorus and potassium, to reinforce the plant and the fruits.

Grow persimmon plant: Exposure and diseases

The Cachi plant has no particular needs with regard to the climatic aspect. The only trick that must surely be remembered is that the Cachi prefers areas with a warmer climate. The cold is quite well tolerated, while frosts are absolutely to be avoided, especially when the tree is in bloom, or more or less in April. The winds characterized by strong gusts are to be avoided, if possible, since the branches already weighed down by the presence of the fruits (whose weight is not indifferent) are more at risk of breaking if solicited. One of the pests that mostly infest the Cachi plant is the cochineal, both called "half grain of pepper" and the floury one. In this case it is necessary to act chemically with special products. In the case of root rot, on the other hand, reduce watering.
