Electric chainsaws

Electric chainsaws

In this section we will take you to the discovery of electric chainsaws, also called "electric saws". Always counted among gardening tools, electric chainsaws are increasingly in demand due to their ease of use and lightness. As they have no engine or fuel tank, electric chainsaws are simpler and less tiring to use. With these tools, however, unlike motor chain saws, you cannot perform all types of gardening work, but only some of the most specific, such as pruning, limbing and felling small trees. Being tools with shorter blade than chainsaws, the electric saws they are used only to cut shorter and smaller branches. Despite everything, however, these tools are very powerful. All their features will be explained in detail in the articles of our section. However, in this presentation text, we want to examine some of the main peculiarities related to electric saws. Outside, the electric chainsaws they are the same as the motor ones, therefore with an ergonomic handle and a blade of a certain length on which a cutting chain slides. The only difference between electric saws and chainsaws is in the feeding mechanism. The chainsaws in fact work in fact in motor; while the electric ones, with electricity coming from a power cable attached to the socket. The most marketed models are the electric wire or wire. Due to the presence of the thread, the electric chainsaws they should be used to prune trees not too far from the power outlet. If you prefer to use these tools, you must also provide a point to be allocated to a power outlet. If this is too far away, an extension can be applied to the chain saw wire to lead the attachment to the available socket. The power socket must be located inside the house or in a garage or garage. The sockets, in fact, should never be placed on external areas, because rain and humidity would end up causing short circuits and even severe electric shocks. Alternatively, you can choose battery-powered electric saws that are easy to use, lighter and therefore less tiring to handle. The blade of these electric saws, toothed and without a cutting chain, is six centimeters long and is used to cut the branches of small pruning works. Being electric tools, the power of chainsaws is measured in watts. There are models from 1600, 1800 and 2000 W. This power determines the speed of the chain. The length of the blade, on the other hand, is almost always identical in the models of any power. Only the 2,000-watt electric saws have not only faster chains, but also a longer blade. The difference in length of the blade between one model and another is in any case negligible and in the order of about five centimeters. In any case, depending on the type of branches to be cut, even five centimeters can make the difference. The blade length of electric chainsaws is generally thirty-five centimeters, while for the more powerful ones it is forty-five centimeters. The choice between one model and another, between one more or less powerful and between more or less long blades, must therefore be made only according to one's needs. In the field of gardening, where there are always many things to do, it is worthwhile to favor the most versatile tools, that is those that allow you to do the job as quickly as possible. Speed and practicality are almost always guaranteed by powerful tools and long blades. Speaking of speed, you should know that the chains of electric saws run with values between 3.5 meters and 12 meters per second. Maintenance of electric chainsaws should be carried out following the instructions given by the manufacturer in the instruction manual. The manual should always be consulted before use, but also after use. Remember that electric saws should always be cleaned after using them. Also check the oil level (indicated by a special indicator) and check that the chain is always well sharpened and lubricated. The costs of electric chainsaws are now quite accessible. These tools, in the large-scale retail trade, can be bought at prices between sixty and eighty euros. Models with power of more than two thousand watts can however cost as much as one hundred euros. The price of electric battery-powered chainsaws is also between ninety and one hundred euros. However, these latter models save the cost of the chain, which, in the event of wear, must be promptly replaced. The cutting chain of an electric saw costs just over sixteen euros. Changes to the prices indicated above may vary depending on the purchase channel and the status of the tool. Electric chainsaws used, but in good condition, generally cost half of the new ones. More details on these very useful tools, in our section.
