Particular plants: Answer: how to find particular aromatic plants
in the nursery we do not always find all the plants that we read or that we find in books, recipes, etc. Often, in order to cultivate everything we want, it is advisable to think about looking for seeds, especially if it is annual, as is the case with many aromatic plants. Plants such as the savory (Satureja hortensis), the borage (Borago officinalis), the comfrey (symphytum officinale), the trigonella, or fenugreek (trigonella foenum-grecum) are annual plants, or that are cultivated as such, in a large vase or in the vegetable garden; they are difficult to find in the nursery, except in the first weeks of late winter, when you find most of the aromatic and medicinal plants. But of these you can easily find the seeds, even if you consider that you will need a lot of land to grow them and not just small pots. Myrtle is a small evergreen shrub, it is found with great ease on the market, even in the supermarket (always in spring), because besides having a good aroma it is also very decorative, with dark green leaves, small and flowers that look like tiny wads . Helichrysum, helycrisum italicum, is a perennial aromatic plant with a gray leaf, found in nurseries, in decorative vases, or even in small jars with perennials. The summer calicanto, calycanthus floridus, is a shrub native to the United States, it is a deciduous plant, up to 4 meters high, which is grown in the garden; it has beautiful red flowers, so it is often found in the nursery, just ask the nurseryman who can get it without problems; also in this case, you have to have a nice terrace to keep it. Curry leaves are taken from a tree, called murraya koeningii, and are widely used in Asian, and especially Indian, cuisine; it is a tropical tree, which I do not think can be grown on the terrace, if not guaranteeing the right cultivation care, and considering that it fears the cold; however, it is a tree, up to 6 meters high, with a wide crown. Artemisia is a widespread plant in Italy, there are many species, which live in the wild, such as genepim and absinthe; the seeds of these plants are not easy to find, nor are the plants already grown; in addition to this, some species of Artemisia are protected in Italy, and therefore it is not the case to collect them in kind. The yarrow, achillea millefolium, is a plant that seeds can be found without problems, it is a perennial plant, which produces a fleshy rhizome, if seeds are easily found.
